The incident began when police attempted to pull over 36-year-old Courtney Dixon, who was believed to be involved in a disorderly conduct incident and was reportedly severely intoxicated.

The chase commenced after Dixon fled a traffic stop, leading police on a high-speed pursuit. A deputy from the Fond Du Lac County Sheriff’s Office responded by deploying stop sticks in an attempt to disable Dixon’s vehicle. Dixon’s vehicle came to a brief stop, prompting officers to initiate a high-risk stop. However, as deputies exited their cars, Dixon rapidly accelerated and fled again. The police, determined to end the chase, performed a boxing maneuver to bring Dixon’s vehicle to a halt. Upon stopping, Dixon locked the doors of his vehicle and refused to comply with police commands, all while chugging a bottle of whiskey. Officers repeatedly ordered Dixon to put his hands up, but he remained uncooperative. After a tense standoff, officers finally managed to apprehend Dixon.

Following his arrest, Dixon was charged with felony vehicle fleeing and eluding an officer, as well as misdemeanor counts of resisting and obstructing an officer and disorderly conduct. His cash bond was set at $15,000.
