Desperate Carjacker Clings to Moving Vehicle Before Being Shot by Officer (VIDEO)

In a high-stakes police chase, a desperate suspect attempted to carjack a moving vehicle before being shot by officers. The dramatic pursuit began when police were in hot pursuit of a domestic abuse suspect, identified as 40-year-old Juan Valdez, on Interstate 5 in California.

Valdez was fleeing in a gold Nissan when his tires began to disintegrate, scattering parts across the highway. As the situation became increasingly dire, Valdez’s tire blew out completely, forcing him to pull over onto the shoulder lane.

Abandoning his disabled vehicle, Valdez bolted on foot and targeted a blue Honda, attempting to forcefully carjack the motorist. However, the quick-thinking driver sped off, with Valdez clinging precariously to the vehicle.

Despite being dragged along, Valdez did not give up. When the Honda came to a stop, a pursuing police car rammed into him, but he still attempted to gain control of the vehicle. Ignoring police warnings, Valdez continued his efforts, prompting officers to open fire.

“You’re going to get shot,” officers warned, and they followed through when Valdez refused to comply. The suspect was subsequently shot, ending the dangerous pursuit.

Valdez was treated for his injuries and released from the hospital. He now faces multiple charges, including carjacking, false imprisonment, and resisting arrest. This incident highlights the extreme risks police face in high-speed pursuits and the lengths to which suspects will go to evade capture.
