Seattle, Washington — A 50-year-old man was arrested by Seattle Police Officers after a violent altercation in Downtown Seattle. The incident began shortly before 8:30 p.m. when dispatch received reports of a male suspect assaulting a pedestrian and attacking another passerby on the sidewalk.
According to the victim, the suspect randomly punched him in the head as he walked by on 3rd Avenue and James Street. Responding officers quickly located the suspect matching the description provided by witnesses. As police approached, the suspect adopted a combative stance, threatening the officers before attempting to flee the scene.
The suspect was apprehended approximately half a block away, but not without further struggle. During the arrest, the suspect assaulted two officers and tried to tackle another to the ground. Despite the resistance, officers managed to subdue and take him into custody.
The suspect sustained a laceration during the struggle. Seattle Fire Department arrived on the scene to evaluate the suspect’s injuries, while the officers involved did not require medical attention. The initial victim also refused medical treatment.
After receiving treatment at Harborview Medical Center for his injuries, the suspect was transported to King County Jail. He has been booked for investigation of assault, facing multiple charges for his violent actions against both civilians and law enforcement officers.
