If this Nicki Minaj and Ice spice situation is not properly managed, we may have another mess on our hands, because days after, barbs dragged ice spice for having a conversation with their op cardi B on the timeline, the barbs are back dragging ice spice, and this time it’s for copying and bidding Nicki Minaj’s style.
But then Nicki Minaj is spilling the tea on how she has no problem with ice spice, bidding her style and being obsessed with her as long as ice spice doesn’t switch sides and start hanging with cardi.
What is this mess?
For those that might not be aware, the female rap game is currently a mess thanks to cardi B and Nicki Minaj, and not only are the two rap powerhouses beefing, but their beef has also divided the female rap game, and it is either you are with Nicki Minaj or you are with Cardi B, and in the last couple of months we have seen rappers jump ship from Team Nikki to team cardi and the other way around.
Megan used to be team Nikki before Cardi featured her on Wap, and also beia used to be a huge fan, Aardi B, before switching sides to team Nikki after Nicki Minaj jumped on the remix of whole lot of money song, but then it looks like something similar is brewing up because Nicki Minaj fans are dragging ice spice for bidding Nikki’s style and stealing her flows.
So a few days ago, ice spice posted this snippet for her upcoming song.
Take a listen to the snippet and yeah, fans were quick to point out that ice spice was bidding Nikki’s style and the beat sounded similar to what Nikki uses.
If ice spice previewed this song A few months ago, there won’t have been a problem, because Nikki’s fans loved her and supported her craft.
But then the easiest way to lose support of the barbs is by hanging out with her op, Cardi B.
So it all started after Cardi B was called out by a tick tocker named rayon for being ghetto.
This sparked a back and forth between the two on X, where Cardi B slammed rayon for calling her Mexican, arguing that he doesn’t say things like that to other Dominican celebrities such as Zoe Salna or ice spice.
So I wasn’t going to talk about this anymore because it was like.
Y’all know, I don’t like to drag things out, but the videos y’all keep saying I’m ghetto and and it throws me off because none of my videos.
Am I rocking up people selling them?
Empty their purse.
Give me everything you got.
I don’t think I’m as ghetto as everyone tries to make it seem.
And what bothers me as a black person?
You guys say that I’m ghetto, but Cardi B, who doesn’t look like a visible black woman to me and this is no shade to you, card B, this is no shade.
This is just literally a fact.
And we’re speaking on colorism and all those type of things.
She is very, very ghetto.
She’s way ghetto than me.
She’s way Hter, gangster, greasy with me.
She was outside with the Damn Bloods.
And y’all don’t say that this lady is ghetto, y’all don’t say that she isn’t marketable.
It feels like everyone can be ghetto.
And she said I asked you why you feel comfortable calling me a Mexican when ice and Jel, Jerome Zoe Salana are Dominicans and you don’t do that to them.
You do it to me because you know that’s what people use to hurt me.
I feel offended that people call me Mexican and stuff because I’m not Mexican.
I’m not Mexican.
My nationalities, my, my nationalities, don’t have the same, don’t have the same cultures.
We speak the same language.
We have different dialects.
We don’t eat the same food.
We don’t eat the same nothing.
Call a Niger a Nigerian ganian.
Call a Haitian a Haitian Jamaican.
Call Jamaican a Haitian.
Call Gu call.
Call Guy a triny, and you told me how they going to feel.
You tell me how they going to feel, and I only do and, and and and stop playing with me.
Cuz y’all know that I’m not Mexican and Yall do that, for Y do that to to think.
Raymond then responded to her, saying you saying I’m using other women.
When me and you had our talk months ago, you said: why don’t I call ICE spice a Mexican?
You bring up other people, not me.
I’m not bringing in any other women in this.
I think y’all all are great.
It wasn’t to offend or hurt you in any shape or form.
Cardi then replied to him, saying: that’s not what you said.
You said nobody called me ghetto and now you moving the goalpost.
You know why I’m at where I’m at right now, because I took all those Nos and recognized what I had to change.
I had to change the way I talk, the way I act, the way I respond and how I present myself, you ignoring all of that and playing the color card because you don’t like me and it’s up you using all these other women.
Sexy red is making bangers an on tour with Drake
And I bet money
She’s going to win female rapper of the year because she’s grinding and working hard, and not letting people call her ghetto distract her from the top.
So miss me with that.
She continued same reason why you felt comfortable calling me a Mexican when I’m Dominican.
And I asked you why you feel comfortable calling me a Mexican when I and Jerel, Jerome Zoe Sana are Dominicans.
And you don’t do that to them.
You do it to me because you know that’s what people use to hurt me, same way as you use my name in that video.
Knowing exactly what you doing.
I spice then inserted herself into the drama.
She replied to one of card’s tweets saying: no offense B, it is because I have a Dominican parent and a black one.
Cardi then replied to ice spice saying: I think there might be some confusion on what was said.
I asked why he felt so comfortable calling me Mexican.
I have no Mexican parents.
My mom is Trinny.
She came out of a whole black woman.
My father is Dominican.
I’m Dominican, just like you.
She wrote.
While quote tweeting ice spice, I also used other Dominicans as an example because, as you should know, a lot of times we get clustered into one because of the language.
Also, can you send me that pick you took of me with your camera from Vanity Fair?
Thank you, ice spice.
Having a back and forth conversation with Cardi B on the timeline had a lot of barbs really mad, and the damage was done.
When ice spice responded by sharing two photos of them smiling and posing together, ice spice lost the support of the barbs after posting pictures of her with Cardi B, and things have gone spiral since then.
So when she posted the snippet of the song that sounded like Nikki, the barbs had to remind her that she no longer one of them and she had no free pass to bite Nikki style and go away with it.
But then, while the barbs were coming for ice spice for bidding Nikki’s style, sources close to Nicki Minaj revealed that Nikki was a little bit mad about the ice spice and cardi B interaction on the timeline.
The Source revealed that Nikki believes cardi B set ice spice up to be dragged by the barbs.
If ice spice had refused to post the picture, it would look like she aired cardi, but she had to post the picture because of the circumstance and more so, they were both Dominicans for ice spice bidding her style.
The Source revealed that Nikki was not surprised, as she called herself the standard.
Nikki said she was the highest selling female rapper of all time and everyone wants to be like Nikki.
Nicki Minaj claims ice spice has been trying to mirror her career from the dresses, the hairstyle and all.
But then she has no problem with it.
Or should we say if doesn’t jump ship, she’s okay with ice spice trying to clone?
Her? news of Nicki Minaj exposing ice spice of being obsessed with her had fans talking and they left comments saying every new artist copied somebody that came in the industry way before them.
Kim was the blueprint and so was Foxy Brown.
It’s nothing wrong with that.
Ice want to be everyone else except herself, LOL.
And she is also trying to throw shade at Lotto, still with the pose and copying her cheetah print, but with her bra L Mao.
Y’all really be trying to normalize stealing Styles and flows instead of being your own Trend Setter.
How can she copy someone who has actual rap skills?
She needs to establish how to rap first.
