What’s up, guys, welcome back to the vlog.
We are here in the beautiful state of Pennsylvania.
We’re gonna be racing today at Pocono Raceway.
No practice, no qualifying.
The typical deal is a two and a half mile track, massive track, three corners, a little bit different than any track that we usually race on during the year.
But i have been here before, so i do have some seat time here.
But first we’re gonna go get some breakfast at Pocono organics and then we’re gonna head to the track.
I like going to like little mom-and-pop places, not cliche places like Mcdonald’s in the morning for breakfast plus Mcdonald’s is pretty gross.
So i don’t suggest getting breakfast from there.
We can go shopping for stuff our way.
We have fresh fruit.
This place is cute.
I don’t understand what’s in vegan marshmallows, sugar, soy?
Okay, it just.
It just looks nice and healthy.
Dude, this stuff looks good.
Yours looks really good food, i would say solid 9.7 out of 10..
But i got a salad for later, before the race.
Chase got a parfait and a whole jar of jam, Blueberry Jam.
It’s 10 bucks.
So he has to take it on the plane, bring it home, because i’m not throwing that away, dude, it’s a little chilly out.
I didn’t pack for this weather.
I need a jacket.
I’m cold-blooded.
There’s a lot of fans here.
They actually open the infield so fans can park on the inside, which this would be the track to kind of start opening the infield because it is so big.
On the infield, you’ve got so many people.
I bet the rules are a little bit more lenient here too, since it is so much room you ready to get some running in today.
I don’t think you guys understand.
Chase literally has to run the whole infield when we go races and stuff to get shots in tracks like these.
Pocono’s probably the worst one, two and a half mile track.
It’s a triangle, so everything’s gapped out super far, so he’s gonna be put in some miles today.
I like when people ask: Hey, Haley, is your dad here?
Where’s your dad?
And i’m like, if you were really a fan of my dad, you would know he’s racing this weekend.
That’s why he’s not here.
What’s your name?
Again?
You gotta give me a real picture.
Hold on.
Well, how many of her?
Yeah, She raised what’s her name again?
Haley Deegan.
Get Harry Deegan.
Yeah, I remember healthy deegan.
Come on, hold on, he gotta get the pick in the professional picture with us.
Oh yeah,
He’s got the professionals.
That’s how he dig it.
Hold up
Helen, Diego. man, she race man, oh wait,
Yeah, thank you, good luck today.
Thank you, yeah, awesome.
One thing that i really like about pocono-
And i feel like it’s good from a fans Perspective- is that fans can access a lot of the places.
So when, like when we were walking in, there’s a bunch of people wearing all my hd shirts and one of the old ladies that was over there, she sees chase walk by and goes: Hey chase, trying to steal my man.
We’re walking to the grid right now.
We’ve been sitting down for a little bit, only like two hours, because today we are racing without practice or qualifying, so straight into it
Make it pretty quick and easy day.
Pretty much just fly in the day before.
The reason why we had flying the day before was because it is an early race day today and they don’t have time to fly us in the day of the race.
So be able to come out here, hang out for a day and then just get right into it.
What happened this last race?
Why did we not do so good?
Why are we starting this far back Nashville?
Oh yeah, never mind, i just talked there.
To be honest, we weren’t too good at Nashville, so we’re having to start.
Some people are yelling dude for rambo in the stands right there, but anyway we’re having to start back in 19th, so a little further back than we’ve been starting lately.
But tanner’s right in front of me.
So plan is for the start just to push him: don’t try to jump out of line and gain some spots early.
A long ass straight away.
That’s a really long strip.
Look at it lead.
How far is that all the way?
Was it really necessary for them to be this long?
The back stretch is just as long, tails a lot of time.
You’re just when you bring the truck to Pocono, it’s pretty much like no other track.
They’re very skewed out.
So it’s like pretty much.
Here’s the truck.
Well, it’s the rear of it’s gonna be like this.
So when you’re going down the straightaways, you’re turning right- it’s the weirdest thing ever-
And then you have to get ready for left-handers.
So you’re like Whoo and, like usually, the air will hold you in the corner.
You feel like you should get loose, but you don’t.
So that’s what makes it so much fun here.
Other than that, though, i really hope we don’t get too spread out because i want to battle, i want to have some good passes.
I feel like we should be fast here, but it doesn’t matter if you’re spread out.
It makes it so hard to pass here, just specifically because when you get behind someone, you get about four or five car lengths away.
Your air will start stalling out and you lose that kind of run that you have and you’re just stuck right there.
You can’t make up any more ground and that’s just a product of racing against the air and everything.
And that’s very prominent in the trucks.
The trucks are very air sensitive, very aerosensitive.
So i think, going into here, we need to make as many spots as possible on the initial restarts, because we will have a few cautions, stage breaks and stuff, two stage breaks.
But i think we’re just gonna make as many spots as we can.
In the beginning, you see that one guy yell your name.
He says: hey, chase, they were just finishing the national anthem.
Hear this old man.
Everyone heard that.
Make it loud and clear.
Oh man, we upgraded our head socks, the white one for the black one.
No more orange makeup stains on the inside.
How embarrassing it is when, like ladies, is that your dad?
No, that’s my boyfriend brother still right here.
Buzz, just about survival for a while.
Typical Pocono, you know, in the middle, one outside, one inside, one inside, one inside.
No caution crosses out, caution’s.
Only just make sure it’s like normal volume.
You’re clear.
You’re clear, all right, settle in now, a little bit at a time.
Here still clear by two, all good here, perfect, good job.
Still clear by five, everything’s all good.
Still seven back, no threat, a little bit at a time for me, really good job right there.
Now we’re going to work on a little bit of time here.
Great corner.
There you go, like the entry.
We just need to carry that exit speed.
So you’re going to definitely sacrifice a little bit more down to the middle water, tip 210.
I’m just really struggling in traffic.
I’m losing the notes in the center pretty bad, like the French is not working that good in the center and just one outside and in the middle.
In the middle got a little bit of clean air here.
Hit your marker.
You’re cleared by two.
All good, higher down, tire down this time.
Fit this time.
Pick this up.
I think it’s a tire.
I’m hitting the track.
Really bad.
Five, four, three, two, one, four tires.
Oh, go hard here.
All clear, you’re good, it was a tire, i believe.
Keep taking three back, keep digging there.
I need to try to get the lucky dog here clear.
Low racing.
Uh, 23 and nine out back get it.
No, i think the 18 got it.
I’m not overly worried about racing these guys right here Haley Cause, cautiously aggressive or aggressively cautious kinda, i don’t know.
Ready that dude basically tried to wreck her in three and four like came down and hit her in the door.
Yeah, I don’t know.
I mean she’s faster than me.
I don’t know how they raised your flag right there.
Good job, sorry, everybody, we’ll get ready for the.
Uh, Knoxville.
We’ll go have a little fun in the dirt.
Okay, that could have really been a lot worse.
Well, that was a bummer about.
Midway through the race i’d say it’s about lap 25.
Actually we got a right-winger flat out of the tunnel turn, which is turn two, super sketchy, awesome.
I felt my tire just kind of go.
It just started getting super loose.
I felt, um, the bottom of the truck just hitting the race track, which is actually kind of good.
It happened in the tunnel term because i was able to come to pit road off turn three, but we weren’t planning on pitting and it was still under green.
It wasn’t cautioned or anything.
So we ended up going a lap down, which, which sucks, sucks a lot, but at the end of the day we can’t control those type things made the best of the situations.
This was a brand new race truck that we brought to this track.
So bring it home clean.
That was a successful, at least in that way.
But just sucks right now because, like if we wouldn’t have had that tire go down, we’ve been able to work on the truck, get it better, which we were getting better.
Every stop the truck was getting better.
So i think that just having that bad luck on our side it’s just not going good right now.
I feel like it just keeps happening back to back to back.
So hopefully we can break it soon and Knoxville’s coming up next dirt race.
So i think we’ll have a good run there.
Finished second, that’s our x-rays there.
So we’re gonna have some fun.
So thank you guys for watching.
