Racing at Berlin Raceway
We’re at Berlin Raceway for the SRX race. It’s my first time here, and I’ve heard it’s tough on tires. Chase has raced here, so I’ll be seeking advice from local racers on tire management.
In practice, I’ll take it easy to save tires for the heat race. The track requires precise handling—staying smooth and managing tire wear is crucial.
During the heat race, I focused on managing tires and maintaining a consistent pace. It was challenging, especially with visibility issues from the windshield, but I adjusted my approach to stay competitive.
By the end of the day, I finished fifth. It felt like a victory given the tough competition. Racing against seasoned drivers like Harvick and Newman was an incredible learning experience.
I also discovered a new pre-race superstition. Chase shared his ritual of eating a honey bun before races, so I tried it and had a great race. Now, I’ll have a bite of a honey bun before every race, even if it means gaining a little weight!
Overall, it was a fantastic race at Berlin Raceway. I learned a lot and am excited for the next one.
