We’re back at Daytona for qualifying day with the Emza series. I’m starting the race, so I have to qualify. The goal is to get as many laps in as possible during the 15-minute session. The tires work better after a few laps, so it’s all about finding a gap in traffic to lay down a solid time.
During the session, I got into a bit of a scrap with a BMW driver, but despite the frustration, I managed to put in a good lap. Unfortunately, later I got rear-ended, but nothing too serious.
Once qualifying was over, we prepped for the race. I started strong, making moves quickly and eventually took the lead after a pit strategy shuffle. However, when we changed tires, the car became harder to handle, causing us to drop back a few spots.
Ben took over for the final stint, and he did an incredible job. We finished P3 and made the podium – a first for us in this race. It was an amazing feeling to celebrate on the podium after a tough race!
