Late-night television host Jimmy Kimmel didn’t mince words when addressing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis after reports emerged of a meeting between DeSantis and former President Donald Trump. During Monday night’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” the comedian labeled DeSantis a “pathetic little worm” in response to the alleged meeting aimed at discussing the 2024 general election.
According to the Washington Post, DeSantis and Trump held a private meeting in Miami, sparking speculation about DeSantis potentially being chosen as Trump’s running mate in the upcoming election. Trump, however, publicly criticized DeSantis, reportedly mocking his Italian heritage and questioning his personality and policies.
Kimmel, known for his biting humor, didn’t hold back, mocking the reported outcome of the meeting. He joked about DeSantis coming out of the room with Trump’s body bronzer on his face, alluding to rumors about the politician’s grooming habits. Additionally, Kimmel ridiculed the idea of DeSantis raising money for Trump’s campaign, sarcastically remarking, “I would love to have been in that room with Trump going, ‘No, I called you meatball in a good way.'”
This isn’t the first time Kimmel has targeted DeSantis. In the past, he has criticized him as “the terrible governor of Florida,” particularly after DeSantis opposed Joe Biden’s vaccine passport proposal. Kimmel’s sharp commentary extends beyond DeSantis to Trump as well, with the late-night host frequently mocking the former president’s actions and statements.
In a recent exchange, Trump attempted to taunt Kimmel on Truth Social but mistakenly referred to him as Al Pacino. Kimmel seized the opportunity to poke fun at Trump’s error, highlighting the former president’s missteps. Reflecting on the incident, Kimmel quipped, “He got everything wrong,” poking fun at Trump’s claim to have an “encyclopedic memory.”
