Kate Martin is an american professional basketball player for the Las Vegas aces of the women’s Nation Basketball Association.
Martin was born on June 5 2000 and grew up in Granite City and Edwardsville, Illinois one.
She is the youngest of three children born to teachers Matt and Jill Martin.
Martin started playing basketball at Age5, participating in local recreational leagues and playing pickup at the Ymca.
Starting in elementary school, she frequented basketball camps at University of Laa every summer and slipped with an Lua women’s basketball poster above her childhood B. Martin also played tackle football in elementary school and later took up volleyball.
Her dad was one of her first coaches, coaching her and her siblings basketball teams up until the seventh grade, as well as Martin’s fourth grade football team.
That same year, she helped her Middle School vol team win the 2013 7th grade Ia class 4A state championship in a straight sets.
The following year, Martin’s basketball team would claim victory at the 2013 8th grade I class 4A state championship, finishing with an undefeated 28 to0 season, while her volleyball team would Place third at the 2014 8th grade state championship.
After completing her final season of Eligibility with Laa, Martin declared for the 202: 24 Wnba draft, Martin attended the ceremony in Brooklyn, New York, in support of her former lower teammate, Catalin Clark, being selected as the First Peak overall in the draft.
From the audience, Martin was selected in the second round as the 18th overall peak of the 2024 Wnba draft by the Las Vegas s. on April 22 2024, Martin was signed to the as rookie scale contract.
In April 2024, days after being drafted by the Aces and prior to the start of their training camp, Martin attended Kelsey Palm’s second annual du class, a three-day Camp to help top women College athletes transition from college year to professional basketball.
On May 13 2024, Martin was named to the 2024 Las Vegas Ss roster.
She made her Wnba regular season debat on May 18 2024 in a 89 to 82 home win against the Los Angeles esparks, registering three points, three assist, five rebounds and a block in 26 minutes played.
On November 7 2019, Martin made her College debat in a 85 to 53 win against Florida Atlantic.

She played in 24 games.
The hoys ended the year with a 23-7 record, an undefeated record on home court and a third place finish in the regular season in the Big 10 conference.
Martin was first recruited by Ncaa division 1 basketball programs during her sopore year of high school, receiving an offer from Bradley.
During her High School career, she continued to receive offers from division one programs, including deal, Illinois, St Louis and Wisconsin, among others.
Her team finished the 2017 to 18 season with a 30 to2 record and reached their second consecutive class 4- a semi-final, ultimately finishing fourth in postseason tournament play.
At the end of her senior Martin’s class finished with an overall record of 122 to6, going undefeated at home all four years.
Martin L her team, win the most points, rebounds and assist during her senior season and ended her high school basketball career with the fourth most points in Edwardsville High School history.
She received the fifth most votes for Illinois Miz basketball 2018 award and was named to both the Associated Press and the Ibca class 4A- all State first teams as a senior.
