Very predictably, in this second round of the Nba draft, the Los Angeles Lakers did what Lebron James has basically been demanding.
They do for the past year and a half.
When the opportunity arises, draft my son, Bronnie, really holding over their head as leverage the idea that he wouldn’t resign with them if they didn’t draft his son, with Lebron James really being the one that’s putting all of this pressure and attention on Bronnie James.
And now, in the aftermath of that pick, even though the Lakers said, oh, anybody would draft him at that spot, no only the Lakers would draft him at that spot.
And now, with what we’re seeing with the contract that bronny James just got, the entire thing is just a complete farce.
Bronny James.
Surprising contract details revealed after the Lebron’s $104 million Lakers deal.
Oh yeah, by the way, Lebron James who promised: hey, if you guys can sign another player to help me out, I’ll take a bunch less money, Bro.
No, he really didn’t.
He’s taking over 50 million a year at the age of 40, and now his son, Bronnie, is getting those benefits that are baked in as essentially being a nepotism.
Higher Lakers rookie Bronnie James signed a fully guaranteed contract with the team on Wednesday, according to Espn, the same day, his father also agreed to a massive extension.
Bronnie signed a 4-year $8 million contract worth under 1.2 million on the first year, escalating each year after that.
So not only is this a a guaranteed actual contract.
As Mo, most people that get drafted in that spot that late in the second round do not have, you know, guaranteed contracts like this.
Most of them end up being two-way contracts.
For instance, take last year’s pick.
Uh, the 55th pick last year signed a two-way contract worth half a million.
This is unprecedented for somebody.
Only a couple second round draft picks actually get guaranteed deals at all.
Usually those are for one, maybe two years.
Bronnie James has a three-year guaranteed contract with a one-year team add-on, and this is just showing that this entire thing- them drafting bronny the way they did it was always a farce, and it doesn’t matter if Jj reck also hired because Lebron James wanted him- or comes out and says: no, Bronnie earned this through his hard work and blah, blah, blah.
Bronnie-
And I’ve said this before- obviously Bron’s college career got up to a little bit late start.
After he literally died, he had that Cardiac Arrest that we talked about.
Um, so obvious, vious ly, you know, maybe a little bit late getting into it, but this dude averaged Four Points a game on a team that was under 500.
The idea that that bronny has just earned all this by himself is just not the case, and in reality it’s putting a lot of expectations and pressure on this kid that if Lebron James hadn’t been talking the way, he was saying that he’s better than half the people on the Lakers roster, saying that he would hold over the Lakers the idea of drafting his son before he decided whether to come back or not.
It’s just all and always really has been, and this is the story of the Lakers.
This is the story of the Lakers bending over backwards for Lebron James, regardless of whether it actually helps the team or not, and I can’t imagine it bodess well for the next few years.
What do you guys think about this?
