Suspect Fires Gun Into Air, Ignores Texas Cops (VIDEO)

Dallas, TX – Newly released body camera footage reveals a tense encounter with a suspect who fired his weapon into the air before being shot by police officers.

The incident occurred on May 6th in Dallas, Texas. Around 3 AM, dispatch received a call about an active shooter on the city’s South Side. Witnesses reported that the suspect, 53-year-old Chris Green, had pointed a gun at someone and fired it into the air near vehicles.

As officers arrived at the scene, the body camera footage captured their urgent attempts to de-escalate the situation:

“Hey, get down on the ground. Hey, get down on the ground,” the officers repeatedly shouted. Despite their commands, Green continued to act erratically.

“Hey, Custer, stay back, stay back. Hey, look, you’re not in any trouble. Get down on the ground,” an officer tried to assure him.

Green, however, ignored the officers’ commands and began yelling. “He’s on his way. Get down to the ground. Hey, he’s on his way. Listen to me, listen to me,” the officers continued, trying to gain control of the situation.

Ignoring the police, Green fired his gun straight into the air. “Keep your hands up. Nope, Nope, Nope,” the officers shouted. “He’s got a gun in his hand. He just shot him.”

Body camera footage from another responding officer provided a different perspective of the chaotic moment. “No, no, no, Oh, God, don’t fucking, put it at me all right, don’t fucking point it? Put it down, put it down,” an officer yelled as Green pointed his weapon towards them.

Green then attempted to flee towards a car stopped at a traffic light. Officers pursued him, shouting, “Hey, get down on the ground. Hey, get down on the ground.” When Green pointed his weapon at the officers, they opened fire.

After the shooting, officers quickly moved to take Green into custody and provided medical aid. Green was transported to the hospital and is now in stable condition. He faces multiple charges, including deadly conduct and criminal mischief.

The Dallas Police Department and the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office are currently investigating the officer-involved shooting.
