Police in North Carolina are continuing their search for a juvenile suspect following a shocking daytime shooting incident in East Charlotte. The incident, which occurred on April 30th in a parking lot, has left authorities deeply concerned about the brazenness of the attack.

According to investigators, two teens exited a convenience store before opening fire on a vehicle using both an assault rifle and a handgun. The victim, who was inside the targeted vehicle, sustained gunshot wounds to the buttocks. Fortunately, the injuries were reported as non-life-threatening.

Surveillance footage analyzed by a detective from the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police revealed the sequence of events leading up to the shooting. The footage captured the suspect brandishing the assault rifle and firing rounds towards the victim’s vehicle.

While one of the teens involved in the shooting, who used the assault rifle, has been taken into custody, authorities are still actively searching for the other suspect, described as taller and wielding a handgun.

The gravity of the situation is compounded by the fact that nearby residents reported damage to their home and vehicle from stray bullets, highlighting the potential danger posed by such reckless acts of violence.

Law enforcement officials are urging anyone with information about the whereabouts of the remaining suspect to come forward and assist in their investigation.
